Cheer Portland is open to anyone over the age of 18. Some optional fundraising events may be hosted at local bars, and you may not be able to help if you are under 21, but there will be plenty of other events you could perform or fundraise at!

 

You are never too old to try cheerleading! Our sister teams have members who are 30-40 years old.

WHEN: Thursdays 7pm-9pm

 

WHERE: Empire Athletics by the Portland Airport.

​Our season typically runs August - July. If you can't make it every Thursday ask us about becoming a part-time performer! Drop in as you can to practices, as a part-time performer, and help us fundraise around the community.

No prior cheerleading experience is required. We will teach you how to cheer!

 

Stephanie, the co-founder of Cheer Portland had never cheered a day in her life prior to joining our sister team, Cheer Seattle.

 

In Cheer Portland's first season we had two never-cheered-before members, and they could've fooled us!

As a non-profit there are certain items that we can not buy for the team, and each member has to purchase for themselves. The uniform is a one time purchase of ~$170, and can be reused each year.

 

Each member is required to pay monthly dues for practice space. For the 2021-2022 season this was $10/month.

 

Finally, each member has a fundraising minimum that changes each year. Typically in the $300-$500 range. This is the amount that you have to PERSONALLY fundraise. It is way easier than you think to fundraise those amounts.
